Fostora Book a demo

For UK fostering agencies, councils and regional hubs

Less time recording. More time with families.

Fostora is the fostering system with Kin, an assistant built into the record. Kin drafts supervision notes, reviews and letters from what's already been logged. Carers log their day on their phone. Every statutory clock is counted for you, and you pay per household, not per login.

What Fostora fixes

The problems that cost fostering services time, carers and money.

Most fostering systems were built to store records. Fostora is built to take work off the people who write them.

Recording overload

Social workers write the same things again and again.

Supervision notes, reviews and letters are written from scratch, from logs and visits already in the system.

Fostora: Kin drafts them from the record, shows its sources, and a worker checks and signs off.

Carer retention

Carers feel unheard and leave.

Logs on paper or a clunky portal, slow replies and pay nobody can explain push good carers away.

Fostora: a phone app with a two-minute guided log, messages, requests and a clear pay breakdown.

Missed deadlines

Statutory dates live in spreadsheets.

DBS renewals, visits, 72-hour return interviews and the 16-week connected persons limit slip through.

Fostora: every clock is counted and flagged before it's due, on each person's Today page.

Rationed access

Per-licence pricing keeps staff out.

Paying £100 or more a month per concurrent licence means agencies ration who can log in.

Fostora: priced per fostering household, with staff seats included in every plan.

Placement breakdowns

Matching relies on memory and gut feel.

Shortlists are built by hand and the reasons are rarely written down for the placing authority.

Fostora: hard rules first, then a fit score with the reasons written out, ready to share.

Inspection stress

Ofsted week means a scramble for evidence.

Pulling audit trails, returns and records together takes days of someone's time.

Fostora: time-limited, read-only inspector access, a full audit trail and the Ofsted return built in.

Time saved

Work out the hours Fostora could give your team back.

Move the sliders to match your service. The figures are estimates from the assumptions shown, not a guarantee. In a pilot we agree a time-saving target with you and measure it together.

6
12Each has a supervision write-up a month. We assume Kin's draft saves 40 of the 60 minutes it takes to write one from scratch.
3Annual reviews, LAC review reports, panel papers. We assume 60 minutes saved on each.
10Drafted from the records. We assume 10 minutes saved on each.
£31Salary plus on-costs. £31 is roughly a £40,000 salary with on-costs over 1,650 working hours.

Also assumed: 30 minutes a week saved per worker on finding what needs attention (Kin's "what needs me today" and the Today page).

Meet Kin

A colleague who has read every record.

Kin is an assistant inside the record, not a separate AI tool bolted on. It answers from the cases each person is allowed to see, drafts the documents they would otherwise write from scratch, and prepares jobs for them to confirm.

  • Ask in plain words. "What needs my attention today?" lists open flags, unread logs, overdue supervisions and statutory checks, most urgent first.
  • Drafts that show their sources. Supervision notes, reviews and letters, written from the logs and visits already recorded.
  • A person always decides. Every draft is labelled and needs a named worker's approval before it is saved, signed or sent.
  • Stays inside permissions. Kin can't see past a person's role, caseload or agency, and only helps with fostering work.

Included on every plan, with a fair-use allowance

Carers come first

An app foster carers will actually use.

Carers who feel supported stay. Fostora gives them a phone app that's quick at the end of a long day, and gives their social worker the log the same minute.

  • A guided daily log in four short steps, from an ordinary day to health, school or family time.
  • Secure messages with their supervising social worker.
  • Requests for expenses, mileage, respite and household changes, tracked to a decision.
  • Clear pay. Allowances, fees and expenses shown separately, matching the payment run.

Matching

Matches that explain themselves.

Hard rules come first: capacity, approval range, siblings and risks. Every carer who passes gets a fit score with the reasons written out, ready to share with the placing authority.

  • Weighted scores for capacity, location, culture, behaviour, siblings, stability and preference.
  • Upload a referral PDF and the needs, risks and child details are read in for you.
  • A vacancy network where councils see free places without the household being named, and their enquiries become referrals.

Minutes, not hours, to a shortlist with written reasons

Safety is never a paid extra

Every statutory clock, counted for you.

Safeguarding, statutory checks, record keeping and data export are always switched on, on every plan, and are never switched off for a late payment.

  • LAC reviews, health, dental, PEP and plans for every child, red when overdue and amber when due soon.
  • Allegations and missing episodes with LADO, strategy meeting and the 72-hour return interview.
  • An audit of every view and change, and time-limited, read-only access for inspectors.
  • Full export of your records whenever you want it. Your data stays yours.
Statutory checks: 66 overdue or missing, 18 due soon and 260 in date, with each child's clocksStatutory checks in the dark Glass look
  • Form F and panel, or ADM only
  • Connected persons, 16-week deadline
  • Allegations with LADO steps

Built for children's data

Privacy and tenant isolation come before convenience.

Checked on the server, every time

Each request is checked for role, caseload or placement, and agency. Each customer's data is kept apart from every other customer's.

AI that doesn't learn from you

Kin runs on Claude through Amazon Bedrock. Your records are never used to train it, and every draft needs a person's approval.

Held in the UK

Live customer data is held on Amazon Web Services in London, and you can export all of it whenever you want.

Invite-only sign-in

No public sign-up. Staff are invited by their manager, with two-step sign-in, and leavers lose access the moment they're removed.

Notes

  1. Estimate from the time-saved calculator's starting figures: 12 households per social worker, one supervision write-up per household a month with 40 minutes saved, 3 reports with 60 minutes saved, 10 letters with 10 minutes saved, and 30 minutes a week saved finding what needs attention. Actual savings depend on your caseloads and ways of working.
  2. Example: 40 households and 15 staff. Fostora Professional guide price £595 a month (£14 per household, minimum £595), against 15 licences at the £100–£110 per concurrent licence a month published on G-Cloud 13 for a leading agency system (£1,500–£1,650). Prices exclude VAT; checked October 2026.
  3. St Helens Borough Council's pilot of an AI recording tool, as reported by the council in 2026. That tool is not Fostora; the figure is given for context.
  4. Based on vendors' published product pages and G-Cloud listings, reviewed October 2026. Features differ between products and change over time; ask any vendor to confirm what they offer today.
